So, like, I'm at the residential college now. Having some fun. Yep.
Uh, perhaps I'll wait until I'm at Uni, so I actually have something to talk about.
I guess all I wanted to say was: I'M ALIVE!!
(It's an achievement, damn you all.)

It feels like nostal-gia, awa-aaa!
Props for the Craig David reference in the title, anyone? Ehhhh.
2 sleeps and then I'm out of home for another semester. Feeling a little nostalgic about the whole situation, but I'm sure I'll be fine. I mean, there are so many ways to get in contact with family and friends these days - Plus, if someone gets on my nerves I can just disconnect my internet or opt not to reply to them. From experience, siblings are harder to ignore when they're yelling in your face.
No, what I'm most worried about is probably my cat. Every time the suitcases come out she freaks. In her giant green eyes I see panic, most likely because the suitcases mean that she will be living somewhere else for a little while - and the car trip out there isn't going to be pretty. I guess it's hard for her to differentiate between me leaving and the entire family leaving. If suitcases appear in one room, there's a chance she might be leaving as well.
I think I'm having the same sort of reaction to the suitcases in my room. I'll be living somewhere else for a while after enduring a pretty hefty car trip there. I'll be away from the loved ones, and I'll have to look out for myself. My cat has had to do this many times, and so have I. This doesn't make it any easier to go.
Now I'll draw something positive out of the situation, like a magician. I'll be seeing the friends I made last year at College and I'll have some awesome fun (while trying not to ruin my GPA at Uni).
I guess where ever you go, something is always left behind. It's not always pleasant to leave behind the things that you hold dear, but it's always nice to know that you can go back to that happy place - even if it's just in your mind.
Oh, and a minor update: Got the classes I wanted, so everyone can sleep easily knowing that I won't be trying to run them over any time soon.

I would like some sleep please.
I'm feeling quite tired today, but I know that I'll just have trouble getting to sleep tonight if I give in to what my brain is telling me. I've decided that I'm going to be a brain-dead zombie for today rather than an insomniac later. What's the lesser of the two evils, eh?
I'm tired for 2 reasons:
1) Recovering from a weekend out in Cairns with friends.
2) It's too freaking humid to even contemplate sleep. It's not desirable (nor is it possible) to sleep when you're lying in a pool of your own sweat. Of course, that's just an exaggeration - but I'm a drama-queen, so I think the description is fitting.
Is it bad to be tired and sore from something that happened two days ago? Yep, the weekend was pretty good - well I'm guessing it was, considering that my feet have now become whining little bitches. Don't let anyone tell you that dancing is good for you - it's not. "Combined with a crowded dance floor and many clumsy-footed patrons, dancing is painful," said my big toe. I'll have to agree with the big fella there. He's all red and swollen. I think it's safe to say that Ms Heel didn't get along too well with her date Mr New-Shoes, either.
On another note, I have to sign on to classes for University during this week. Not only is this task terribly exciting, it makes you truly appreciate just how fast someone's internet connection can be. I mean, if you hesitate for 2 seconds, you won't be able to sign on to the tutorial you want. I'm sure fellow Uni students are well aware of this. It's a pain in the arse, especially when you have more than one sign-on scheduled at the same time.
I guess the point of that paragraph is: If I don't get the classes that I want because I was a second slow, I will probably cry. I will probably become a rage machine as well. Let me put it this way: I don't intend on driving any time soon, but if I don't get my class... Well, I just hope you're a fast runner, because I won't be stopping for pedestrians.
Yeah, not really.
Now I'll have to do a tonne of damage control to convince everyone that I'm not actually a lunatic. I'll get back to you on how that goes.
I'm going now.

The coming year looks interesting...
So here I am writing a blog. Oh, a pretty special one too. The last time that I had anything resembling a blog was probably about 2 years ago - and that was just writing crappy fan-fiction for a couple of my friends. While that blog hasn't been deleted off the internet, it certainly has been hidden from public view - I really hope no one finds it. Ever.
So, here's to new beginnings! I needed an outlet for my stupid thoughts, and here it is. Let's just hope that I can bring in some consistency for my blog-making. I never was one for time.
Now I just need some news...
I'm sure this is pretty sad, but I'm actually looking forward to going back to University. I've been on holidays for 3 months (without an official job or any sort of decent mental stimulation, mind you) and it's safe to say that I've gone just that tiny bit more nutty. Believe me, the full decay of my mind is only a few years away. So, anyway, Uni. I'm in my second year of Commerce, and I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes their course. I tend to like things that I'm good at, so that probably explains something.
I'm really excited to get back to Uni, but that only means that the suck-fest of having to leave home again is only becoming closer. I'll miss Mum's cooking, conversations with Dad and my sibling's companionship. That being said, I'll have plenty of companionship at the place I'm staying - at a residential college. It's my second year there as well.
Oh, and in other news. I might actually try to lose some weight this year. I paid for a gym membership within my college fees, and I've decided I'm going to use it this year. I guess I'm not morbidly obese, and my BMI is just out of range of the healthy range, but... I'm pudgy. Pudgier than I would like to be, anyway. I've got a friend at college who says she'll go to the gym with me, so that's good. There's no better motivation than a person yelling at you to get to the gym... Yep. I'll try to be good this year. Wish me luck, eh?
Anyway, I think I've spent far to long writing this blog. I need to do something - though I must say that writing stuff down has given me at least a figment of mental stimulation. My brain needed that, I think. You know what they say, if you don't use it, you lose it.
So, yeah, that's pretty much it...
Here's to new friends, new experiences and the year to come!
